It is important for parents with minor children to have a Will containing provisions covering the management of their assets until their children reach an age at which the parent feels they will have the maturity and judgment to manage the inherited assets. By having a Will, parents are able to designate a person (Trustee) that will control and manage the assets for their minor children and provide for the manner and time in which the assets will be distributed to the children. Through the Will and a Pre-need Guardian Declaration, the parents may also designate the person that they wish to assume custody of the children in the event of the parents’ death.
For detailed information on providing for minor children in your Will please telephone, email or fax your request for our minor children pamphlet. Typically, our firm charges $150.00 for each Will containing a standard testamentary trust provision for minor children. Preparation, execution and filing of a Pre-need Guardian Declaration for a minor is $125.00 for each Pre-need Guardian Declaration.
